Learing Beyond the Classroom

At LIFE Male STEAM Academy, we go beyond traditional academics to offer programs that inspire curiosity, leadership, and real-world readiness. Our school is committed to developing well-rounded young men through experiences that support academic excellence, personal growth, and career exploration.

ALLI (Accelerated Learning & Leadership Institute)

A scholar-centered leadership development program focused on character building, public speaking, academic achievement, and goal setting.

Athletics & Fitness

Scholars stay active and competitive through basketball, squash (via Steel City Squash), and physical education, promoting teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits.

Book Club

Scholars engage culturally relevant texts through guided discussion and reflection, strengthening reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking through monthly book club meetings.

College & Career Exposure

Field trips, guest speakers, and career-focused experiences expose scholars to postsecondary pathways and help them develop a vision for their future.

Culture

School-wide experiences and traditions that promote identity, belonging, core values, and a positive school climate rooted in respect and excellence.

E-Sports

Scholars participate in organized competitive gaming that builds teamwork, strategy, communication, and digital literacy while exploring technology-related interests.

Fab Lab

A hands-on innovation space where scholars design, build, and create through STEAM projects, fostering problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills.

Game Design

Scholars learn the fundamentals of game creation through design thinking, creativity, and technology, developing problem-solving and collaboration skills through hands-on projects.

House System Competitions

Scholars are placed into Houses that promote school spirit, teamwork, and core values through monthly competitions and community challenges. (Houses: Kindness, Integrity, Nobility, Growth, and Self-Awareness)

K.E.D. Clubs

Weekly, scholar-led and staff-supported clubs offered during Kings Enrichment Day (K.E.D.) that foster leadership, creativity, and collaboration across a range of interests including Botany, Spanish, Chess, Finance, and Debate.

Math Tutoring

Weekly tutoring provides targeted math support through personalized instruction, progress monitoring, and skill development to strengthen confidence and achievement.

Mentoring

Small group settings where scholars build relationships, discuss life skills, and grow in character with support from adult mentors. Field trips, guest speakers, and career days give scholars a window into the future and a vision for success.

Performing Arts

Music education rooted in rhythm, discipline, and group performance, offered through our Rhythms of LIFE African Drum Ensemble and creative performance opportunities.

Reading Intervention

Personalized literacy support helps scholars strengthen reading proficiency, comprehension, and vocabulary through targeted instruction and progress monitoring.

STEAM Enrichment

Hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through lab work, tech projects, and cross-curricular innovation.

Our extra-curricular programs are available for children ages 3-6.

+ Spanish Immersion

Taught by a Montessori-certified Spanish teacher, this program provides anenriching environment and engaging curriculum that immerses children in Spanish language and Latin culture.

Music Together

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children and parents. This research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Art

For a young child, creating and experimenting with art projects is a wonderful way to express what they see, feel and imagine. This class lets them try different media while learning about shapes, colors and textures. It also introduces famous artists and works of art.

Tiny Mites Soccer Coaches from Sampson Socceruse specifically designed drills that incorporate songs, rhymes and games to make learning the game of soccer fun. Kids learn basic skills as well as balance and coordination, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Ballet Children learn the joy of dance with an instructor from the Loudoun Ballet Association, and take part in a dance recital at the end of the school year.

Summer program

When school is out, fun is in session at our summer camp program. For 10 fun-filled weekly sessions, we explore a different theme each week, where we combine fun, educational activities with plenty of outdoor time (weather permitting), weekly bus trips and lots of water play. Students enjoy art, cooking, sewing, drama, science, air and space, architecture, all related to the theme of the week.

Trips include the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum.

Full and half day camp sessions are available.
